Questions about tomcat logs

Guys,

I was clearing up some disk space on my vCenter server (I'm running 4.1.0 258902) and I found some massive log files (one in particular was over 1 GB) in the tomcat logs directory (c:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\tomcat\logs\).

As far as I'm aware tomcat is the webserver that vCenter uses, we done use web access so I'm confused as to where this log came from.  I have a few questions.

What is the purpose of these logs?

What could generate such a large log file?

Is there a way to prevent a log this size bieng generated?

Thanks in advance guys.

Hello,

Have you opened up the logs and looked at them.

What is your logging level set to?

In vcenter, go to vcetner server settings - there you will see the logging option which is typically set to normal/informational logging.

Is it set to normal or Trivia?
