SAN Disk Size Performance

We're looking to add an expansion bay to our IBM DS3400 SAN. Fully populate the 12 disk bays with either 300GB SAS drives or 600GB SAS drives and was wondering what the performance difference would be, if any for read/write differences due to the size of the drives. There would probably be one hot spare drive, leaving 11 disks setup as a RAID5.

Any input or thoughts would greatly help, thanks

Hey Kyle,

There was a discussion way back on this that was pretty good.

Good Luck!
