Forgot passwords - clean install

I started experimenting with ESX 3i 3.5 a few months ago and then had to leave it for some time...I am coming back to my install and have forgotten the passwords I set up...I realize there is probably no way to "reset" anything...but how can I just do a fresh reinstall if this is the case?

the only supported way is to reinstall, you can do a repair install which will re install esx but leave your datastores untouched and you just re add any machines you had,

thats what i love about ESX it has single user mode and you can just change the password Smiley Happy ESXi is a bit more of a pain.

The guide provided in the above post is pretty simple and works but its not supported, for testing i say have a go, on a live system i would re install cause if anything did go wrong you would be on your own.

Cheers
