Help with PSOD

Hi All

Got a couple of new servers HP DL380G6 both installed with 36GB ram in each, with intel x5560 @ 2.8 GHz processors. On one of them I am gettong a PSOD every now and then.

ESXi 4.1 is installed on an internal SD Card (the one reccomeded by HP) Using build 260247

Anyone have any ideas where I sould start looking?

Thanks

Scott

I hope this helps

The first line of the PSOD has a memory controller error. Have you run the Memory check on the system yet? I would start there. It definitely appears to be a hardware error. If the memory comes up good you may want to run the other check on the hardware that HP provides.

That is where I would start anyway.

I had done a test from the smart start with no errors being detected on the memory just done another and did a custom memory test and one of the modules had indeed reported as failed on the SPD error test.

I have raised a call with HP's support for a replacement

I hope this helps

also, while you have the downtime, you may also consider flashing your firmware if you are not current.

HP memory errors have been a problem for us too; we've switched to using all Kingston to mitigate the issue successfully....
