Hi,
Is there a tool that I log all audit information and also query that? For example lets say that a mac address of second interface on a virtual machine has changed? How can I found out that information? Also I would like to see a dashboard on that product. For example
1) Most logins
2) Most traffic usage
3) Most VM activity.
Regards.
Two free tools come to mind for this
http://xangati.com/try-it-free/
http://www.veeam.com/esxi-monitoring-free.html

Hi,
I have used veeam and also on Infrastructure client. I have changed a Vlan of one ethernet of one Guest but for that I only see
Task: reconfigure virtual machine.
But I need a detailed log such as
Task: reconfigure virtual machine: Vlan changed from xxx to yyy on nic zzz
Is that possible? Or another example is to see amount of memory increase done via inf. client.
Regards.
Hello,
Many tools can be used for Auditing however not are all designed for auditing.... For security tools look at HyTrust, Catbird, Altor, Reflex as well as log analysis tools such as Splunk. Even search style tools such as Hyper9, etc.

Hi,
We have a product that can track changes to your VMware systems (as well as the guests running on them) it might be something that would be useful to you.

Let me know what you think, feedback is always much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
An updated link to this page is document VMWare environment. XIA Configuration includes support for both vCenter and ESX. It can document Virtual Machines, VMWare hosts, Resource Pools and VMWare Clusters.
