Could not scan

Hello All,

I did a migration/updgrade of my Vcenter Server 4.0 to 4.1 to a Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit VM.

I'm trying now to update my ESX hosts from 4.0 to 4.1 I'm receiving error

"VMware vCenter Update Manager had an unknown error. Check the Task and Events tab and log files". In the events I see only "Could not scan ..... for patches". In the log files I don't see any specific error beside a lot of certificates error. But I believe not relates to my issue.

Is there a problem for VUM to access my SQL database (different machine)? I have only one databse for VUM and Vcenter. Somewhere in this forum I read VUM needs 32bit system DSN.

Please advice

Thanks

Edy

That's correct. The forums are a great resource for solving issues, however you should have read that in the VUM Installation Guide in first place (http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsp_vum_41_admin_guide.pdf page 29)

If possible create a separate database for VUM to prevent issues.

Thanks

I just realized after going through the steps to create a 32bit DSN. I already had one.

I will deinstall VUM and create an own database.

Thanks
