LDAP connection to Windows 2008 R2 AD not working

Anyone gotten the LDAP connection in vCloud Director to work with Windows 2008 R2?

The documentation is pretty light on this.. (yes, I actually read it first AND looked in the communities!)

Doc says SIMPLE and no SSL should work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

mike

It took me forever to get this to work. It did not seem to work with any of the settings that work with other applications that authenticate against AD but I did finally get things working. Is it refusing connection or just not displaying any hits to your queries?

What does your setup look like?

When I click on the Test Connection button I get a "cannot connect"..

AD IP Address

Base name is the same as the example. dc=vlab, dc=local (AD is host.vlab.local)

Port 389

No SSL

Authentication Method: Simple

Adminstrator username and password.

Standard User&Group Attributes. Nothing changed

Found the problem.. You need the fully qualified DN of the username in the username field.

Example: CN=Administrator,CN=Users,DC=lab,DC=local

Argh...I shoulda known better.
