Not able to remove the distributed switch from vcenter server

Hi,

We have added 3 hosts in vcenter server and created a distributed switch. I have added that distributed switch to the virtual machines. After that i have removed the virtual machines. When i tried to remove the distributed switch i got an error message as "The resource '102' is in use.DVS distributed1 port 102 is connected to entity <not-found> vnic 4000, type:vmVnic.". Please let me know how to remove that distributed switch?

After moving the vms, try to move the dvpgroups to pgroups and every physical nic, maybe you have some vmkernel portgroups configured over the dvs and you cant quit after remove them.

Please try this way, may help..

1. Created a New vNetwork Distributed Switch

2. By editing settings on each VM i moved it to the New port.

Thanks,

Late Response

This issue has been resolved, the resolution was to log into the VM and to change the NIC that was allocated to the DVS- done
