Hi,
We are having some issue converting an existing windows OS using Converter. The error is:
We installed ESXi 4 on another machine and successfully created a virtual machine and installed windows 2003 on top of it.
Now we are trying to convert another existing windows 2003 Machine so we can run it on ESXi, we installed VMware vCenter Converter on this machine, but the conversion failed right after I clicked Finish (see screen shot below) due to some ssl problem as shown in the log below
Any hints would be much appreciated. Thanks
The error in the log is
This message is fine to ignore. It is not an error only a warning.
Cheers,

Hi,
I've update my problem above, can you have a look again plz ? Thanks!
Yes, can you tell me what version of standalone converter are you using and what version is the ESX host you are trying to copy to? or at least what is the source you are trying to copy too and version.

Also for assistance with this process for installation and configuration - you can see this doc for version 3 - and here are some best practices as well -

Maybe we met the same issue for converter. I am using the converter standalone version to convert a Linux box to VMs. I am using the client to control my ESXi 4 server instead of the server. And I got the failed information after I click finished.
If the problem is because SSH/SSL, I think first you should try to ssh to your ESXi 4 server. Check whether root can login.
In /etc/ssh/sshd_config, there is a entry for root login.
Another thing maybe help, "service iptables stop " to stop the firewall.
Hello,
Moved to the VMware Converter Forum.
Do not allow root to login to any ESX or ESXi host directly via SSH, this violates several security compliance directives. If you do allow this, you need to ensure you disable it soonest.

Yeah you could enable TSM for an esxi host here is how to do it. I didnt think of that... this will enable root logon.

Be worth trying at least.
