SuSe Linux from VMware

Has anyone tried this already? Concidering if it's worth it to switch over? From what I can see the only advantage on buying SUSE from VMware as of right now is to receive updates for the SuSe O/S and VMware Host from one place?

If you have anything to add to this I'd appreciate it. We are currently a Novell shop and just starting to virtualize some of our SuSe Servers.

Thanks

I've read that VMware was working closely with the SuSe community, and that this distro was the most supported one by VMware for virtualization.

So if you're using SuSe a lot and that you need a real support, this could be a good idea.

Yet again, VMware screws old customers...

I guess the big question is, what are the risks of patching ESXi hosts seperately from your SuSe guest? We already have a patching architecture all set up through ZLM for our SuSe Servers.

If it's a case of no risk just a little more work having to pull patches from two different places. I can live with that.
