possiple to reduce the disk size?

i am using ESX4.0. when i creat a vm with one Hard disk size of 100 Gb.when OS (Win 2003) installation allocate 50 Gb to C:drive .remaning 50 Gb is unallocated space. I have installed application its woriking.

is ther any way to reduce the disk size to50 Gb only inESX .?

If you want reduce disk a vm, you can use VMware Converter, take a look at Using VMware Converter to resize virtual disk files

Welcome to the community.

As written the VMware Converter could be a solution.

Or, if you have vCenter and at least 2 datastores, you can use migrate / datastore to convert from thick to thin format.

Hi

if u have access to use third party tools like "Partition Magic" software also u can reduce the disk size while VM is online.

try this. im not sure i hope this will help you.
