VT will not be enabled by simply restarting the machine. Try this..

1. Disable the VT now.

2. Save BIOS.

3. Shut down machine for 5 minutes.

4. Power on and enable the VT again.

5. Save BIOS.

6. Shut down machine again for 5 minutes.

7. Boot the PC and run that command again and see the output.

also please let us know if that worked out or not..

Hi San,

There are lot of posts going around on this even when enabling the VT in the BIOS does not start the x64 bit machines. Most of the time the output was VT was not enabled correctly...

you might wanna run below command and see if you have VT enabled.

esxcfg-info | grep 'HV Support'

and see if you get the output ............3

this means that VT is supported but not enabled correctly in BIOS. Check out the below listings from one of the Vmware KB articles...

To determine if Intel VT or AMD-V are enabled in the BIOS:

1.Login to the ESX host as the root user. For more information, see Tech Support Mode for Emergency Support (1003677) for ESXi or Unable to connect to an ESX host using Secure Shell (SSH) (1003807) for ESX.

2.Run this command:

  1. esxcfg-info|grep "HV Support"

The output of the HV Support command indicates the type of Hyper-visor support available. These are the descriptions for the possible values:

0 - VT/AMD-V indicates that support is not available for this hardware.

1 - VT/AMD-V indicates that VT or AMD-V might be available but it is not supported for this hardware.

2 - VT/AMD-V indicates that VT or AMD-V is available but is currently not enabled in the BIOS.

3 - VT/AMD-V indicates that VT or AMD-V is enabled in the BIOS and can be used.

thanks again...that was helpful.

Now how do I ensure the VT enabled correctly in the BISO because I know I did enable the VT and even now it is showing enabled inside BIOS. Is there any specific set of procedure to follow here....
