I have an ESX 3.5i host (not managed by vCenter server) that is currently running a delete snapshot operation on a VM. The management services have stopped responding on it, which happens occasionally, but I'm wondering if I issue a /sbin/services.sh restart if it will interrupt/possibly corrupt the snapshot delete process.
Should I wait until the delete is finished to do this or should it not have an effect?

Yes don't touch it. Ironically BECAUSE you are doing a snapshot delete, it's taking a long time is WHY it's not responding... after it's done, it will respond again.
Thanks for the quick response and for the info, good to know! I'll let it run its course.
Every month or so the management agent will freeze up, but the services restart clears that up nicely. I guess it's time for an upgrade to 4.1 :)Thanks again!!
