problems importing (P2V) windows 2000 SP4 servers

I upgraded my vCenter (windows 2008 x64) and ESXi hosts to 4.1 the other day along with the plugins and now i am unable to import windows 2000 servers.

At the step of pushing out the agent, it errors out with: "Unable to complete vCenter Converter agent installation on %server%. Errror code 1,603"

this process worked fine last week when i was at version 4.0.0 update 1, any ideas?

i looked over the 4.0.1 converter admin guide and looks like windows 2000 support was not dropped.

tried to install the agent directly on the target server and it says "converter agent requires XP or later", no clue what i'm doing wrong.

support helped me with RTFM of the correct product (VMware vCenter Converter 4.2 for vCenter Server 4.1) :smileyshocked:

•Support of the following operating systems is discontinued:

  • Windows 2000*

process works fine with latest version of converter standalone.
