VMWare Windows 95 Focus

Hi

I wonder if somebody could help me, I have been googling and searching for this for some time now but still struggling.

I recently rescued a friends Windows 95 machine by creating an image of his old hard drive and loading it up in VMWare. All appears to be well, until you launch a fullscreen DOS application. It seems every 40-50 seconds the application losses focus and minimises showing the deskop. The screen / resolution appears to flicker also.

Has anyone else encountered this? And any ideas on a possible resolution?

Oh, I must also mention we are running VMWare player on Windows 7 as the host. The issue also occurs through VMWare Workstation.

Okay I've solved this.

When I tried to instal VMWare tools it failed and I had to complete it manually. This however left a command.com file sitting in the c:\windows directory which for some reason was firing every 40-50 seconds. Deleted this (as the default command.com is in the c:\) and all is well.
