no volumes on broadcom iscsi adapter yet works on software iscsi on esxi 4.1

Hi all,

I'm running ESXi 4.1 on a HP DL380 G6. I have 4 vmkernel ports created, one for each NIC. I have associated each NIC/vmkernel port number with the corresponding vmhba on the broadcom iscsi adapter. i.e vmk3 to vmhba33

I've specified a chap name and secret (target authenticates host) and entered the san IP address in dynamic discovery. I successfully get a list of targets in the static discovery tab.

I don't get any login errors on the san (I do if I change the chap secret so it shows its definitely communicating with the san). However nothing appears in my list of devices after a rescan? If I remove the vmkernel port from the broadcom iscsi adapter and associate it with the software iscsi adapter it works no problems. Any ideas anyone? Thanks,

Josh

Probably this is a bug in vSphere 4.1 Broadcom Iscsi Adapter not support all broadcom adapters or in source code for broadcom iscsi Adapter is error.

If anyone can please report the bug to VMware in order to clarify.</span>
