ESX 3.02 host in vsphere center server

I have a new ESX 4 host in my new vcenter server version 4.

I need to add my existing ESX 3 hosts into the new cluster.

I have moved one ok and have vms attached to the host.

I am unable to migrate the vms from the older host to the new host. I get warnings regarding machine needs to be powered off. and then it shows errors regarding CPU.

i am licenced for vmotion on the old hosts and the new hosts.

any ideas on what to do?

The problems you have with moving VM's from the ESX 3 to the ESX 4 host are probably because the old and the new hosts have different hardware. Take a look at the next blogpost: Adding new(er) hardware to your existing (older) cluster.... Maybe the approach in the blogpost will solve your problem.
