Virtual machine doesn't open

With Fusion 3.1.0, my virtual machine does not open. There is an error message in the Virtual Machine Library, "The virtual machine appears to be in use," but under the Virtual Machine menu, it says "Virtual machine is off" (greyed out).

The .vmwarevm file is on an external disk, but I have used it before with no problem. When I double-click it, Fusion launches, but nothing happens.

Hi,

If you are sure that the virtual machine is not in use, then you can remove the lock files/folders that keep you from running the vm now.

I take it you are using the bundle approach, so in order to see those files in Finder, you'll have to use "Show Package Contents" from the rightclick mouse menu and then remove the folders that end in ".lck"

Hope this helps,

Glad to hear it is fixed... Oh and welcome at the VMware community forums.

I missed that you are new here or I would have started with that Smiley Happy
