MSA2012i -- MRU or round robin, which is better??

We have an MSA2012i with our vSphere 4.x cluster and software iSCSI.

It presently uses MRU, would anything be gained by changing this to round robin for each host/VM??

I can test on 1 host / VM to start...

Thank you, Tom

Both should be the same since you are using the software iSCSI initiator there is only a single path out of the ESX host - round robins benefits come when there are multiple HBAs in your ESX host -

When there's only one HBA the only useful option is MRU??

I guess you put the question to bed pretty quickly. Smiley Happy

If it makes any difference, I forgot to say that it is a dual-controller SAN.

Thank you, Tom

MRU is also OK when only one HBA, since you can add multi nics and port binding; and if you have multi luns on storage, you can still select different nics for different luns;

round robin? I suggest to contact HP, for me, round robin maybe can not help for the performance here
