On a single host machine it seems as if ping times and transfer times are slow between two VMs. The machine has two 4-core Xeon processors and 32GB RAM and SSD (Consair Nova) drives and is running nowhere near capacity (usually using less than one core). Transferring data is slightly slower than transferring between a VM and a real machine and quite a bit slower than copying a file between two drives in the same VM.
Is there something I might be doing wrong? Any suggestions on how to figure out what is going on?
