Failed DMotion

I have several files now for a server that I storage vmotioned and now the server won't boot. I am getting a "File was not found" error.

I am left with these files along with my normal log, vmx, nvram, etc:

DMotion-scsi0:00_alxn-netmon01-000001-delta.vmdk

DMotion-scsi0:00_alxn-netmon01-000001.vmdk

DMotion-scsi0:00_alxn-netmon01-delta.vmdk

Is there any way for fix this vm?

You should be able to see what file is missing by logging onto the service console and opening the vmware.log file located in the same directory as the .vmx file.

It really depends what exactly is the problem in your case. Here are some articles that might help you figure out what the problem is and possibly how to resolve it but call support if you have it, it can be tricky. If it is saying file not found the vmdk descriptor file may need to be recreated. Figuring out why SVmotion failed (is a datastore low on space) would also be important to figure out.

There is a good website to help create vmdk files, kudos to whoever wrote this:

Hope that helps
