sunvmman,

I know when you are running a test recovery plan then it wont shutdown the vms.

Im curous why you would want to keep the protected vms up if you are initiating a full recovery plan?

check and balances. one script to shutdown the vm and one to failover ..

you don't want someone to hit the wrong button

I don't think it is configurable.

I advice you to look on SRM permissions. Permissions to Run the Recovery Plan must be given to very limited number of users (or even only to special user whose password is stored in some secured place).

Hi,

You could try and break the connection from the protected site and if possible also make sure that the VC in the recovery site cannot access the VC in the protected site.

This could be one way to complete a failover without taking down the production vm's. I'm not saying that I have tested this but it could possibly work.
