Resuming a suspended VM rather slow

Hi,

We are just getting our feet wet with View 4, and I have a small group of test subjects running virtual workstations.

A common complaint I am getting is that it takes up to 90 seconds for a user to log in to their VM.

I have the pool of VM's set to suspend when they are not in use. It looks like it is just taking a long time for the VMs to wake up and present themselves for access.

Does up to 90 seconds seem like a long time?

There are only 10 or 11 VM's running on this server (Dell 2900 dual quad core 3ghz cpus and 48 gb of ram)

The datastore is a loal datastore comprised of 1 TB Sata disks.

thanks for any input you can offer

Jason

This has been the standard wait time for me too. I think thats the best we can expect for now. The best option (from the users perspective) is to leave them on.

This is most dependent on disk access, try to move to a fast disk subsystem or reduce the amount of IO that is generated.

How many disks, what raidlevel and what speed is it on the disks?
