p2v dell oem box working fine... should I be worried

I have p2v'd a dell oem server, after conversion I have got to the activation screen and changed the key to the oem one from the sticker on the server.

I then went through phone activation... it worked!

I am unable to connect the machine to the network at this stage as this was just a test run before the live migration.

Should I be worried about anything?

I'd say the chances are very good that you will not experience any technical problems from this.

Hello.

The OEM version of Windows is not legally allowed to be used after the P2V conversion. The OEM version of the OS is tied to that piece of Dell hardware and is not transferable. Not saying you might not be able to get it to work, but it could lead to support issues down the road if you ever need to call Microsoft for help.

Good Luck!

I wont ever need to call MS

I did call MS and ask them if there was any way I could use my volume key and they couldnt help..

without getting into the ethics here (it's not like I didn't try) I just want to know if there is any reason the server may at a later date give me licensing problems during useage
