Well, the title says it all.
I have View 4 up and running, and all generally appears to have gone well. The problem I'm running into is if I choose the RDP protocol, the desktop pops up and runs fine. If, however, I choose the PCoIP protocol, I get a black screen and then 10-15 seconds later, the connection drops.
One of the suggestions I've found was to double check the video memory on the DVM, which I did. It was originally 29.61 or something like that, so I changed it to 32. That didn't help, so I tried 64. That didn't help either.
On the DVM, in the pcoip_server_pre_2010_* files, I see the following lines:
01/10/10 19:48:54 server main: Opening mailboxes
01/10/10 19:48:54 server main: ViewAgent did not give us a preferred connection address.

Hi Rick,
I have the same problem and called tech supp. We're stiill looking at the problem but one posibility is that a GPO is causing an issue. I moved the computer account to another OU that is unaffected by GPOs and PCoIP now works!
Very odd!
Good Luck

Aaron,
I also have the same issue with GPO affecting users from logging into a VMware View 4 PCoIP session.
Aaron, do you use logon scripts in your GPO, mainly VBS scripts I think that's what is make PCoIP no work?
Thanks
ICWASHERE
Hi all,
I was having the same issue with PCoiP connections. The thin client would make the connection then a blank screen and about 10 seconds later it would just drop the connection.
I noticed that the sygate firwall was actually blocking the PCoIP connection but letting RDP through.
Once I disabled the Sygate firewall, PCoIP connections worked great.
Check to see if you have firewall enabled on your access device, if you do make sure to disable it for PCoIP connection.
My thin client was running WES 2009.
If disabling the firewall on the client resolves your issue please do comment back.
Thanks!
Hi,
We are actively looking at our GPOs to resolve this. I've opened the a call with VMware, but they have sat on it for over a week now. View support at VMware seems to be an afterthought. The two people I spoke with were not View support specialists.
Once we find the GPO responsible, I'll post it here.
icwashere: no we do not do scripts by GPOs.
Hi,
We have found the GPO that was causing the problems with our PCoIP. Essentially, the current GPO was overwriting the Windows firewall ports. Subsequently, we've created two new GPO entries that will allow UDP and TCP traffic on port 50002. This appears to have resolved the issue.
I hope this info will help someone and I've notified VMware Tech supp on the resolution.
