Strange entry in players virtual machine list

Hi,

I have just edited the /etc/vmware/config file to add a temp folder. But after editing this file it apears in the list of available vm's in the player window. If I click on it it throws the message "Error opening virtual machine /etc/vmware/config: "/etc/vmware/config" is not a valid virtual machine configuration file.". Any ideas how to fix this ? Removing the temp folder entry in this file has no effect.

Thanks in advance

looks like a syntax error or illegal character - post the config-file please

I would remove the following entries from the preferences file.

Example:

pref.mruVM(n).filename = "/etc/vmware/config"
pref.mruVM(n).displayname = "config"

Where the "(n)" in "pref.mruVM(n)." is a number as in "pref.mruVM1.filename", etc.
