a general system error occurred on vmware - i have to do service mgmt-vmware restart ?

hi all !

i have some many virtual machines on a vmware infrastructure client ;

one virtual machine linux suse has had problems , a file system corrupted , and not was possible to repair it ;

in spite of many fsck -y etc etc ...

now i have deleted this virtual machine linux , using "delete from the disk" option ;

but .. from when i used this command "delete from the disk" , i can not create new virtual machines , i have this error "a general system error occurred" and even "invalid state" ,

i can not create new virtual machine , and if i do a "power off" i can not put in "power on" that machine ;

when i click in"events" inside every virtual machine , i get this " a general system error ocurred" as i wrote before ,

so .. must i restart init.d/mgmt-vmware restart ??

or maybe must i do a physical reboot of the host ?

is it sufficient ? , or maybe the virtual disk is corrupted ?

if it is corrupted , what i must do ??

thanks a lot for attention !

best regards

Hello,

Which version of ESX are you using? Is it ESXi or ESX?

Also, I would start reviewing your vmkernel log files as you may have more issues than just restarting the management agents. Restart the management agents is the first thing to do. But I would also investigate everything else.

Also are you using vCenter or direct to ESX via the VIC?

Hello,

Which version of ESX once more... v3 or v4?

You need to restart the agents from the service console using 'service mgmt-vmware restart' as the root user.
