Finder has been rewritten in 10.6 and there have been some changes in how disk images are handled. This may cause the dialog to show.

What's your exact question regarding this? Is it just the different behaviour between 10.5 and 10.6 or is there something not working correctly?

The dialog is the result of security changes with Snow Leopard.

You have the task of fixing VMDKMounter to be in compliance with Apple's security changes

I agree that asking for your admin password doesn't make much sense.

I'm not sure what we can do about it. I've file bug # 495230 internally to have this issue investigated.

Thanks,

Sailesh
