The Advanced button works and shows the graph, but the default Overview button that comes up just says, "Navigation to page cancelled"
Any ideas?
Have had this happen on my setup, I went into the VCenter Server Settings>Managed Ip Address and set the machine IP address, and that seemed to solve it.
I read there is a file you can also edit that contains another IP address that can be changed, if my 1st idea doesn't work, i'l try and dig up the article.
Good luck
I tried that and it didn't work for me.. any help would be great.
The SQL Server Browser service is started?
Andre
Yup, the SQL Server Browser service is started already.
Here is the error I'm getting from the plug-in manager.
The name "vcenter" can be resolved?
Have you tried also to open the client directly from the vCenter Server?
Andre
Yup.. I could do both. vcenter is resolved.
- When I go to my local browser that name comes up. and I've also tried to open the client directly from the vCenter Server.
Any other reason as to why this could happend to me? I've never renamed the server before too.
Thanks

DNS problem? In some cases also a Windows update can stop some service.
Andre
Got same issue when i install my vcenter. I guess your tomcat/java service isnt' started on your vcenter.
For me it was caused by tomcat/java default memory configuration who was too high on my vcenter preventing him to start the java web server ( used by Performance overview tab and the 2 plugins that don' start)
Fixed it by decreasing allocated ram in java ( before : 1024 -> after : 512) : go to start>progams>vmware>vmware tomcat>monitor tomcat then go to java and decrease maximum memory pool and resart tomcat/java.
Hi AprilTechno,
Thank you for your input.
I noticed that VMwareVirtualCenter Management Webservices is started and that has a reference to tomcat.
Also can you please let me know where is the config file you referring to reduce the memory.
Thanks
Hi, there is no config file, just use the gui as i mentionned :
Go to start>progams>vmware>vmware tomcat>monitor tomcat, it will launch the tomcat gui configurator then clik on java button and decrease maximum memory pool to 512 and resart tomcat/java.
I had the exact same issue with plug-ins being disabled with a connection error. The result was also that the Performance overview page could not be shown.
I was unable to access the tomcat service tools as suggested in this thread - just got an "Access denied. Unable to open service vctomcat". However the vctomcat service was not running at all. After starting the service I could enable the plug-ins and the Performance tab will now play nice again.
When I had the same issue with performance overview tab not dispalying ..all I did was to login directly to the Vcenter VM (Win2k8 R2) and started the VMwareVirtualCenter Management Web Services from the services management console.
And 'Viola' my performance overview tab started displaying for my ESXi host.
I hope this solve your problem.
