NTFS partitions writable on Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard added write support for NTFS partitions.

However, the default mount status for NTFS is still read-only.

There is a GUI - http://ntfsmounter.com - for mounting a NTFS partition as read/write. When added to Login Items, may be used to mount NTFS partitions as read/write when needed.

DiskUtility may be used to unmount/mount as read-only.

This does conflict with the NTFS-3G package, which can be disabled (and eventually uninstalled once comfortable).

No experience with Paragon package.

Best of Luck

I believe that native NTFS support in Snow Leopard is not a finished product and that is why it is not enabled by default. So I would be very cautious about enabling it. FWIW I do on occasion unsee NTFS-3G but only enable it when needed and then disable it and by default leave it disabled most of the time.
