howto to change VirtualCenter installation account

Hi,

I installed Virtual Center 2.5 (build 119598) with my temporary account who will be disable as soon as my mission is over !

I'd like to know what would happen to Virtual Cente

if any problem might occurs, is there a way to change the account used to install Virtual Center ?

Regards, Julien Cohen

The installation, to my knowledge, doesn't have dependencies on the user who installed vCenter.

Right.

The username/password asked for plugin installation is only needed during installation process.

Than all services are user-independent.

as long as you have the vCenter Server Service set to Local System and you have not made any DB password changes, you should be fine. The installation, to my knowledge, doesn't have dependencies on the user who installed vCenter.

You onlay have to be careful with you database account.

If the user becomes disabled that is responsible for the db you can have a problem!

You need to simply open your windows services and verify that all the services for VMware on your VC's OS (start - run -> services.msc) are running under valid user accounts (or system) to continue to function.

If your user account is being used to run any of these services, just make sure to change the uname / password.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
