Upgrade VirtualCenter 2.5 update 2 to update 4

Are there any issues about upgrading VirtualCenter 2.5 update 2 to update 4?

I hope that I do not have to install update 3.

Hi,

There are no issues as such. It's a direct upgrade path. There's no need to upgrade to VC 2.5 U3 first.

However, always remember to take a backup of the VC database before attempting an upgrade.

Thanks.

Thank you fore your answer.

Is it ok to upgrade VirtualCenter 2.5 update 2 to 4 first and after that upgrade esx 3.5 from update 2 to 4?

Yes, that is how the upgrade process is recommended Smiley Happy

First VC upgrade and then ESX upgrade.

You could have a look at this doc; it's an upgrade guide: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35u2/vi3_35_25_u2_upgrade_guide.pdf

Thanks.
