Hi,
When I am trying to add host server on Virtual Center I got this message "There are not enough licenses installed to perform the operation". I believe we have enough licences, I can see the following contents in my licenece file (VMware_VC_DC1.lic):
'Licencetype=Server'
VMware ESX Server Standard & Virtual SMP = PROD_ESX_FULL
VirtualCenter Management Server = PROD_VC
VirtualCenter Management Agent for ESX Server = VC_ESXHOST
VMware VMotion = VC_VMOTION
VMware HA = VC_DAS
VMware DRS = VC_DRS
and when I check the licence file on Server-based License File CheckerI found this error message "ERROR: No ESX Server host licence(s) found". Can any one please help me to solve this issue. PLease let me know if you need more information regarding this issue.
regards,
Siraj
Just want to add to my previous post. VMKernel is not configured on VMware Cluster. It is necessary to configured first ?
Check con VC how much "remaining" licenses do you have.
Administrator button / Licenses
And be sure that VC has a valid license.
Andre
Hi Andre,
How I can make sure we have enough licences and VC has a valid licence? Sorry I am new on VC. I really apreciated.
Thanks,
Siraj
As I right before go on vCenter Server.
Click on Administrator, click on licenses and see the data on the left.
Andre
Ok Andre..I found in the VC it says: in the (Licence Feature Column) = VirtualCenter Management Server (Cost) = 1/Server Remaining = 0 Total = 1
Ok, this is only VC.
And what about other product?
How much ESX do you have?
You you no not have other entries, you must first goes back again on web license portal, and create a SINGLE lic file with all your licenses (in centralized mode).
Andre
We do have 14 ESX Servers needs to add on Virtual center. Can you please guide me to create a SINGLE lic file with all your licenses (in centralized mode).
First understand license in VMware, see page 27 of:
http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35u2/vi3_35_25_u2_installation_guide.pdf
Then go on the license portal: https://www.vmware.com/support/licensing.html
Select your product, and have a list of your registered products.
Then you can try to use "combine" to aggregate all your license in a single one.
Or free all your licenses, and recreate a new file.
Andrea
