I have an XP system which I am trying to install the VI client off of the ESX server's welcome page. I can download the file, but when I try to expand it for installation I get the error "Error reading archive. The selected files couldn't get extracted." It then lists the following files:
bin/
redist/
redist/dotnet/
redist/vjredist/
redist/vjredist/x64/
redist/vjredist/x86/
redist/vjredist/x86/vjredist.exe
I tried downloading the client from the internet to install it instead but got the same error. I tried clearing out temp files and using 3rd party zip utilities to expand it with no luck. Haven't been able to find anything about this via google either. Is this something extremely simple I'm missing here?
