Generate remote console URL

Hi There,

Just out of curiosity, let's say that I am using the Web access tool to allow a user access to VM via""Generate remote console URL". After a week let´s say I want to deny access to that URL. How do you go on about it? My understanding was that if I click again on "Generate remote console URL" link it would generate a new URL and therefore the user won't be able to access anymore to that VM but please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanking you in advance,

Saludos,

Jose Maria Gonzalez,

The web URL is just a link. You manage the access via the VI Client and VM Templates, to show all your VM's. Restrict the access there. They may have the URL, but they can't access the VM if they don't have user/group access to that VM.

Hello,

That is not the case. The URL can be computed quite easily and there is a perl toolkit tool to do just that available.

You would need to use Roles and Permissions on the VIrtual Machine and Templates view to do what you desire. Just add a role without the console perms on the VM.
