VC upgrade failed with warning 25016 .

I have my VC upgrade from the version 2.5.0 U3 to U4 . After the VC credential setup , I met the warning window with code no# 25016 . it shows there's VC existing instance runing . I tried to restart all the VC related services . it still shows this warning window untill cancel the upgrade wizard . any inputs ?

I never seen this message before during this kind of upgrade.

Have you choose to use the existing DB?

yes , use the existing DB .

Very strange.

Try to restart VC machine, and then apply the upgrade.

You DB is a local SQL Express 2005?

Are you running the upgrade via the vi client or via remote desktop? As this error may show if you are currently accessing the machine via the vi client. Try check all the people accessing your environment via the vi client and make sure no one else is on the v centre server. all this obviously only applies if you have virtualised your virtual centre server.

i did a p2v to simulate this installation . it works . so i will prepare a time window to install it again .

i installed from VC server . only reboot can work from my VM vis p2v .

I just close all vSphere client on vc machine..

and It works.

Please end process VpxClient.exe after end process you can upgrade normal.
