Virtual Machine: unable to connect to MKS: failed to connect to the server 10.10.100.10:902

Hi,

I have just installed ESX 4.0. However, when I try to create a virtual machine, I get the "unable to connect to the server 10.10.100.10:902 message. I trying to bring up a Windows 2003 host.

What is the root cause of the unable to connec the MKS message?

Thanks,

Most of the time it's something to do with proxy.

Edit your /etc/vmware/config and add this line:

<code><span class="pln">vmauthd<span class="pun">.<span class="pln">server<span class="pun">.<span class="pln">alwaysProxy <span class="pun">=<span class="pln"> <span class="str">"TRUE"<span class="pln"></code>

When you open console to VM, console is trying to connect ESX server, so you need connection from you destop to ESX, and DNS name of ESX must be resolvable from desktop.
