Licence ESX Host from Console?

I have a ESX 3.5 host that I'm trying to join to our vSphere environment. It should use the old licence server address () but the service doesn't appear to be running anymore.

I was wondering is there a way I can put the licence key in manually at the console so I can then get it up to upgrade to ESX4?

You have to reinstall the old license server (for ESX 3.x host).

Or create standalone license and load them with VIC (but I think that you loose VMotion and other Enterprise feature in this way).
