Does VMware tools alter the Windows Disk Timeout Value

Does anyone know if the install of VMware tools alters the windows disk timout value registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Disk/TimeoutValue should be set to 3c (60 seconds)

as it appears all my VM's have this, but my physicals dont and are the default 10 secs ?

Yes VMware Tools changes the value to 60 seconds. It has apparently been introduced in 3.0.2. I didn't notice it until a couple of months ago.
