Extend swap on ESX 3.5

I've a problem with swap files on esx server...and I need to extend or re-size swap.

Please guide me the step to extend/re-size swap

I assume you want to extend the amount of swap for use by the SC. If that is the case extending the existing swap partition is not the way to go. You can add an additional swap partition if you have the space free on the drive, or another free local drive.

Hello,

Swap files > 2GBs are wasted space within GNU/Linux but you can have multiple 2GB swap partitions as Lightbulb has pointed out. You can also use a swap file if you do not have space to place a swap partition. Check out 'man swapon' for how to use swap space and swap files.

I tend to reinstall ESX if Swap is too small (less than 2GBs) myself, it is a quick fix to the problem, but you can add more swap partitions if you have the space. Do not place swap partitions on SANs if you can help it.
