Memory Utilization VMWare Player on Windows XP

I have an Windows XP (32bit) machine with 4GB of RAM. I need to be able to do some simpletesting under VISTA and take some screen shots using the VISTA interface and will need to have the VISTA VM running most of the time. If I were to add an additional 2GB to the physical machine, would the VMWARE player be able to use that memory and still leave me with 4GB for my XP applications?

Thanks,

Norm

The general limitations of XP are:

Max usable system memory ~3 to 3.5 GB main memory (how much exactly depends on you mainbaord and it's BIOS)

Max usable memory per process: 2GB (with some special server applications 3GB if you enable the 3GB switch in boot.ini)

Therefore are already restricted by both system constraints - more memory would be wasted money unless you switch to a 64bit OS.

I actually expected that answer, but you can always hope. Thanks very much. -- Norm
