Try reinstalling VMware, but right-click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator".

Are you running any 3rd party firewalls? What antivirus are you running on the Host?

Is anything interesting shown in your Host's Event Logs when you try to install VMware Workstation? (Wondering if Symantec is "blocking" suspicious behavior when VMware tries to install the virtual network adapters)?

This is what i have done,

1. disable everything in symantec

2. launch VMware Workstation with "run as administrator", try and add (still get error)

3. Launch VMware Workstation wih "local builtin administrator", try and add (still get error)
