Virtual disk not displayed after creation

Host System - XP SP3-running VMWorkstation 6.5

Using VMWorkstation with the Virtual Machine off, a Virtual Disk is created (IDE) to be used with the virtual machine. Upon succussful creation of the virtual disk in a new folder called "Virtual Disk" on the host drive, the Virtual Machine is started (XP SP2). Virtual Windows starts without a problem however the newly created Virtual Disk is not displayed. How can I get the Virtual Machine to see it ?

Welcome to the VMware forums!

Can you attach the .vmx file that is in the folder of your virtual machine?

Side note, if you add a new virtual drive to your windows then you will still have to create a partition and format the new drive before it is seen in windows.

In order to do so, you could, right click My Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management

This should show any new disks.
