How can I change vramsize to 8MB from 4MB(Default)

I was modified the configuration file(*.vmx) with svga.maxHeight, svga.maxWidth, svga.vramsize= X * Y * Z.

(Also, VM was power off, sure!)

But, VM vramsize is alway 4MB...Mmmm...

What's the problem?

How can I change the vramsize on ESX 3.5, 3.5i?

Unregister the VM then make the change to the vmx and then re-register again and see what happens

Dear, Steve Beaver.

Thank you for your advice.

I was changed *.vmx configuration via my VI console option, before your advice.

That works fine.

I'll post this funny experience to VMware Korea ESX user group.

Here is my work order.

1. Unregister your VM from VI or VC

2. modify your VM's VMX(configuration file) file.

3. Register your VM

4. Power on your VM and just change screen resolution.
