ESXi Help needed - performance

Hi there,

I've just downloaded and installed VMware ESXi in our testing environment, I've installed a Win2k3 Ent Server VM and noticed that there's no performance counters for the VM or for the ESXi host itself. It this the default in VMwre ESXi or is there something I must configure.

many thanks

Cheers

No further configuration needed. It should work out of the box. Is your time on both the ESX host and the machine running the client set correctly?

I'm assuming you are looking at the Performance tab in the VI client. Hit the green two circle arrow icon to refresh the screen if you don't see the pull down menu populate or the graph show up.

ShahidSheikh,

Thanks for the reply, actually we tried that and it didn't bring up any data at all. Is there any where I can check, or is there any further configuration needed?

Many thanks

Restart the management service on your esxi box sometimes seems to fix this issue.

You're welcome. One of the first things I setup after installing an ESX/ESXi box is setup ntp on it. Highly recommend it.
