Hi Folks!
I have been trying to get the ESXi 3.5Update2 install/run on the Gateway DX4200 at home.Tried the installable and the embedded version,but to no avail.Looks like esxi is not able to detect the sata drives and onboard gigabit ethernet card.Looks like people are having trouble installing it on DX4200 model(http://communities.vmware.com/thread/169803).Could anyone let Me know if there is any other whitebox way or esxi hacks to get it up and running on this machine of mine.If no other option works,then I will have to get a Intel Pro Gigabit network adapter which is supported by esxi.Please advise.esxi is supposed to support SATA drives.Looks like it still doesnt support the internal estern digital caviar 640GB SATA2 drive which is in this machine.Below are the machine's detailed specs,just incase:
