hi,
I have two server.
I install ESX on the two, and virtual center on a third.
I have create a new cluster, activate HA, add two host.
When i create a new virtual machine, it ask to me to select only one datastore host beetwen the two, so i select one.
But my machine is only on one host, I don't understand how to make a unique virtual machine on the two host in the same time.
My goal is: if a host failed, other take the relay.
I think you misunderstood the concept of HA. HA isn't statefull like MS Clustering. When you create an HA cluster and Host01 fails than your VM's will be restarted on Host02. In other words, you will lose your session to the VM. So there's no standby VM or anything like that, it's the exact same VM that's being used.

yes but now if host01 fail, how host02 will retrieve the data from the host01?
how to create a datastore on the twice host?
You have to have shared storage, like a SAN or NAS, that both ESX servers can see and access so when you create a datastore and VM each ESX servers can see and share the files

the virtual machine vmdk(s) must reside on a shared datastore formatted as vmfs...

arggghh! the answer that i fear....
So if i want a HA beetwen two server, i need to have an external datastore on a third server.
Does a NFS share on a windows 2003 server will be enough to make a shared datastore?
