Does anyone have an idea how to stop and ESXi 3.5 Update 2 virtual machine from tring to boot PXE (network boot)?
Theonly reason why it would PXE boot is because it did not find anything else to boot from - I would first investigate why it is not booting from the cd hard disk or floppy - but Duncan's is correct -
You can also remove virtual Ethernet Adapter from virtual machine configuration. It won't have network adapter to use for PXE boot.
The problem was with my CD/DVD ROM. For some reason, VMware cannot see it. So, I IOS'd everything and was able to install the client VMs. Now I have to find out why ESXi cannot see my host DVD

So ESXi is not your host?
I have the same problem I have a machine that's been copied off a laptop and needs to have a "vm" bcd and need a way to get into bios because pxe doesn't work on my system as those devices are NOT PRESENT, and I accidentally have pxe booting in vmware please post fix.
I Can't Find the "Disable NIC Boot" Options in my VMware
"Network boot from Intel E1000"
Please try changing the bios type [types are UEFI and legacy bios] of VM and then try booting from the DVD or ISO. It should work then.
Upvote, if it helps.
I Booted form ISO, so it Helps, I choose ISO, Because i Don't have a Windows Installer Disc.
