Hm - Maybe Windows as Host is not the best decision
I have running a stress-test since some hours on a virtual machine
The Host is Fedora 9 x86_64
MySQL-Server is running since 7 hours and has performed 235 Mio. querys
There is running an Apache-Benchmark with 50 simulatouns requests
Surfing with a browser does not show any slower execution, 4 other vms
are running at the sime time and all feels very fine.
Vmware-Server 1.x was on windows also a pain because it sucks at updates because it will be uninstalled before and network-configurations are lost and stability was also not as good as on a windows xp host
There are no problems running VMware Server on Windows, though XP might not be the best choice.
Definitively, it should not cause observed issue.
Please attach/post "vmware.log".
the xp host is just for testing things out and not for production use! As stated above, i have no problems with the performance of linux guest systems on this server. It is just the windows 2008 server guest system which uses all the cpu.
