Exclude VM from HA

I have a requirement to exclude a VM on a physical from High Availability.

Ultimately that particular VM must stay on that physical host.

Is this feasible?

That will disable DRS only - if you go under the HA settings you can also diable the VM form HA - it is under the per VM Restart Priority -

yes, if you want to pin the VM to a particular host, you will have to right click on the cluster, edit settings, then go to the VMware DRS options and chose the Virtual Machine options, find the VM you want, and select the option disabled under the automation level

How about attaching an .iso CD to the VM that lives on the local host's vmfs partition.

thank you.. I assume this option under DRS also keeps the VM from being VMotion'd if the server goes down?
